Kenny Rogers died at natural causes this friday night in peace at his home in Sandy springs, Georgia. The famous and popular country singer was 81 years old.
Kenny Rogers born 1938 in Houston Texas was a famous Singer, songwriter, actor, record producer and entrepreneur. In 2013 he was elected to the Country Music Hall Of Fame. Rogers was mostly known and popular for his country music but he made over 120 singles in different genres aswell. During his lifetime more than 100 million of his records where sold worldwide. He is one of the best selling musicians of all times.
He was also part of the charity single “We are the world” recorded in 1985 and written by Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie. The group that recorded the single was calle USA for Africa and had many famous names in it as: Lionel Richie, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Quincy Jones, Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson Tina Turner, Diana Ross, Billy Joel and Kenny Rogers with many more famous names.

Kenny Rogers was also known for being a good actor. One of his most famous movies was The Gambler that had premiere on CBS in april 1980. He also starred in a lot of other movies and films between 1973 – 2009. In 2009 he played himself in the popular american comedy show Reno 911!. That was his last known role in a movie or series. In 2009 he did the Book narrator voice in the so popular TV-show How i met your mother.
Retirement and The gamblers last deal
Kenny Rogers made his final tour in 2017, allthougt that is was planned to be during 2018, but after advice from his doctor due to health issues he had to cancel the last part of the tour and made his final concert in Nashville on October 25 2017. The tour was called The gamblers last deal and included visits to the United States, Australia, Scotland, Ireland, England, The Netherlands and Switzerland. On the last concert he was joined but his old good friend Dolly Parton aswell. They performed the tops songs “You Can’t Make Old Friends” and “Islands in the Stream“.
From what we know, Kenny Rogers lived a happy life and had 5 children. He was married to Wanda Miller from June 1, 1997 until his death on 20 March 2020. Rogers is mourned and missed by many – but his music will always live.
